There’s a reason why so many people are taking it up laser hair removal just before the summer. You see results straight after the first treatment – less planning, less shaving, less worrying about whether your skin looks good at the last minute.
However, there is still widespread confusion surrounding laser hair removal: many people believe that the treatments need to be carried out every month for years on end. The truth is quite different.
When laser hair removal is carried out correctly, using the right equipment and at the right intervals, it is a lasting solution, rather than an open-ended monthly commitment.
That is precisely why in Body Aesthetics We always explain in detail why the intervals between treatments are so important and why too frequent visits do not lead to better results.
The reason is simple: body hair does not grow at the same rate.
At any given time, only around 20% of hair follicles are in the active growth phase and are connected to their root via a blood supply. It is precisely at this stage that laser hair removal can be effective.
This phase is called anagen phase.
When the hair is in this phase, the laser energy reaches the follicle and permanently damages it. If the hair is in a different phase — for example, in a resting phase or in the process of falling out — the treatment cannot have the same effect.
That is why we do not work on the same strands of hair every month. We work on the different growth cycles.
It usually takes around six cycles to cover the maximum number of active follicles.
That is precisely why the standard course comprises 6 treatments, unless:
For most people, this is enough to achieve a significant and long-lasting reduction in body hair.
Once the course of treatment has been completed, maintenance treatments may be carried out infrequently — for example, once a year or when a small area needs to be corrected.
That is also the difference between temporary hair removal and permanent hair removal permanent hair removal.
How often is laser hair removal carried out, depending on the area?Different parts of the body have different rates of hair growth. That is why the intervals between treatments are not the same.
The areas on the face are hormonally active and the hair there grows more quickly. That is why the treatments are scheduled at shorter intervals. This is the area with the highest density of hair per square centimetre and the most difficult to treat. It is rare for just 6 sessions to be sufficient to achieve the desired result in this area; more often than not, we carry out 8–10 sessions.
Includes the following areas:
Areas of the body (such as the underarms, intimate areas and stomach) and arms — every 45 to 60 daysThis is the most commonly recommended interval for these areas. The growth cycle here is slower than on the face, and the body responds best to this particular interval between treatments. These areas respond quickly. As early as after the second treatment, the period of smoothness between two laser hair removal sessions increases.
Often, between the 5th and 6th sessions, we have to wait more than two, and sometimes even three, months for hair to grow back so that we can carry out the treatment. If there’s no hair, our customers don’t need to visit us. They ring to book an appointment when uniform growth appears (hair throughout the entire area). That way, we know that the next anagen phase has begun, and that is when we carry out the treatment.
Hair growth is slowest on the legs. Having the treatment too early usually means that a large proportion of the hairs have not yet entered the active phase.
The result:
Very often, after the fifth treatment, it takes 3–4 months for new hair to grow back. This area is very easy to plan for, even in the summer, because the treatments are carried out at very long intervals.
Many salons continue to book customers for a fixed period of 30 days, regardless of the zone.
This isn’t harmful to the skin, but it’s often not effective.
When the hairs have not yet entered the active phase:
Over time, this creates the impression that laser hair removal „doesn’t work“ or that it has to be carried out indefinitely. The truth is that the problem often lies in the incorrect interval between treatments, rather than in the technology itself.
Not all laser hair removal treatments are the same.
The results depend both on the correct interval and on the technology used.
Our laser hair removal is a medical treatment and is carried out using the world’s leading medical laser platform Gentle Family – — one of the most extensively researched laser hair removal systems in the world. Among the main advantages of the alexandrite laser are:
The technology also features dynamic cooling, which makes the procedure suitable even for laser hair removal for sensitive skin.

Clinical trials conducted by Syneron Candela show that up to 89% permanent hair reduction approximately 15 years after a course of 6 treatments with GentleLase Pro.
That is an important difference.
The aim of laser hair removal is not for the client to visit the salon every month for years on end.
The aim is to achieve a permanent reduction in body hair and to minimise the need for daily grooming.
After completing the course correctly, most people notice:
That’s the real benefit. Not just smooth skin, but the freedom not to have to think about it all the time.
Laser hair removal is not a treatment that needs to be carried out every month indefinitely.
When carried out at the correct intervals and using the appropriate technique, it is a method for long-term hair reduction.
The body has its own growth rhythm, and any effective treatment must take this into account.
Spend less time in the bathroom.
More time in the sun.
If you’re wondering when the right time is to start, or whether your treatments are scheduled at appropriate intervals, the Body Aesthetics team can draw up a personalised plan based on the areas to be treated, your skin type and your hair growth pattern.
