Do you feel as though another year has flown by before you knew it? We’ve turned the clock back. The heating’s been turned on. We’re changing the tyres on our cars as snow is forecast. We’re taking our warm clothes out of the wardrobe and saying goodbye to our swimsuits and short-sleeved tops. Goodbye, see you next year.
In the minds of many of us, a quiet stock-taking is also taking place. Perhaps not quite as rigorous or intense as the New Year’s one, but a stock-taking nonetheless. We are now starting to spend more time at home and at work, and less time going out, moving about and travelling, leaving the discovery of unknown places and unknown lands within ourselves to an uncertain future. And whilst the New Year’s review tends to focus on the pay rise we didn’t get, or the home improvements we didn’t get round to this year either, or the compromises with those close to us that we refused to make, then this late-autumn review is more about the pleasures we missed out on.
Here at Body Aesthetics, we can’t help you with most of the things listed above. But we hope we can help you with the self-confidence needed to be braver, more generous and more certain of your own worth. And we can certainly help with looking after your body.
But if we want to achieve that „Wow!“ effect next summer, we need to start now. Just as we’re already starting to dream of beautiful beaches, delicious food and good company, so too must we start preparing now to become the version of ourselves that we envisage.
Because in these mental images of ourselves, we are always weaker, more beautiful, younger, happier and more confident. Let’s make it clear straight away that none of the things listed above is essential, apart from the last one. But for many of us, these things are linked. And sometimes, it takes very little to feel good about ourselves.
But let’s also describe a very unpleasant cascade of worries that we often – and quite unnecessarily – inflict upon ourselves. I didn’t get what I wanted this summer. And the time for rest and enjoyment has already passed. I’ll make up for it with unhealthy habits that bring quick and fleeting pleasure. I’ll think about my health and appearance in the spring. In the spring, I’ll get annoyed that I didn’t start sooner. I’ll resort to unhealthy habits again just to take my mind off things. I’ll spend the summer in the emotional hole I’ve dug for myself.
We say this because we know it from our own experience.
It takes an awful lot of willpower to build a good habit. To find the strength to look after yourself. But the hardest part is getting started. Whether it’s about starting to eat more healthily. Cutting down on cigarettes or alcohol. Starting to exercise, getting active, dancing, and finding pleasure in all the things your body is capable of. It has been proven that it takes just 45 days to form a useful habit, but the important thing is not to give up on the 35th day.
– a morning routine that involves drinking a glass of lukewarm water with lemon
– early dinner – by 7.00 pm at the latest
– try to combine foods properly at every meal
– cut out white sugar, white flour and white rice, and find alternatives that you find tasty
– cut out packaged snacks (waffles, cupcakes, bruschetta, etc.) and only treat yourself to them once a week; you can replace them with your favourite fruit, raw nuts or vegetables
– establish a regular routine – when you get up, when you eat, when you exercise and when you go to bed
– swap 30 minutes on Facebook for 30 minutes of light exercise at home
Any useful habit becomes enjoyable over time, but it takes more effort at the start. Patience and planning are key to getting in shape.
To achieve smooth skin and permanent hair removal, between 5 and 8 sessions are required, most commonly 6. These are carried out over a specific period of time to target all hairs at different stages of their growth cycle. For the face, this is approximately every 30 days. But for the legs, for example, we need 60–90 days between sessions. You can work out for yourself when you need to start in order to achieve the desired result. To reach at least the fourth session (when the result is already quite close to what you’re aiming for), you’ll need at least 8–9 months.

The same applies to body-contouring treatments. The maximum effect of CoolTech cryolipolysis is achieved inlast month. Although results may be visible as early as the second week, the body continues to eliminate unwanted fat cells over a longer period. In any case, we do not carry out a follow-up treatment until at least six weeks have passed, to allow the body time to naturally rid itself of the fat cells. We consider anything else to be irresponsible.
The results of VelaShape III are immediate: we lose centimetres and our skin feels smoother and firmer. However, to achieve long-lasting results, we recommend a course of at least three treatments, which also takes time.
If we use these techniques to motivate us to take other positive steps in our lives, we can achieve a great deal. And then that idyllic summer scene fades into the background. Because the most important thing is to feel good every day and in every season. And in reality, not just in our imagination.
We at At Body Aesthetics, we understand the problems we are trying to solve. And we know that expensive equipment, skilled therapists and treatments are not enough. Change begins with the decision to take that first step in the right direction.
